TDZK News: Cut and pasted from the Changelog: ChangeLog in General Added By: Jerle On: 10/03/02 12:11:07 EDT The admin staff got out of the habit of using this for a while with all our server problems, we'll be posting important information here again instead of the front page. Earth 2025 News: Both the Tournament and Limited games have reset in the past day or 2 while the Standard and Free For All games are going to reset very soon. House Forsaken Recruitment Drive in BattleField 1942: The following was cut and pasted from the HF Forum concerning the clan's recruitment policy in the newly released multiplayer BattleField 1942 game: Membership in House ForsakeN entails many things. First of all, Clan Forsaken was created by Usurper in 1996, more then half a decade ago. From then, the clan has expanded into many different games, including Starcraft/Broodwar, Diablo2/LOD, RTCW, WarcraftIII, and many other games. Battlefield 1942 is the newest addition to HF. Above all else, House ForsakeN values maturity. We pride ourselves for maintaining a family-like atmosphere in these forums, in IRC, and in game. Members of this clan are expected to portray themselves in a positive manner at all times. We also expect the same of our recruits. If you have any questions about this policy, contant me at Inviz@clan-forsaken.com or at ICQ 42399671, and Zolt at zolt@clan-forsaken or 132018710. All interested recruits need to reply to this thread with their; -in-game name -ICQ -location/timezone -age -connection to the internet -best nights of the week -favorite servers -Yes or No to Competition, why? -a short explanation of "Why you want to join House Forsaken." -A short explanation of your past experiences in gaming -Any other comments you have. We will reply to your application as soon as we can via e-mail with our policies and other tidbits. TDZK Reset Tentatively Scheduled: Cut and pasted from the game's announcement page: Reset Added By: Jerle On: 10/03/02 12:21:58 EDT Many of you know this already, but TDZK will be reset on November 1st. This involves clearing all accounts, alliances, everything. The admin staff is currently re-writing the whole game to make things faster, and to bring you many cool new features. We will be conducting a beta test of TDZK 2.0 about a week before the reset, if all goes according to plan. We will issue another announcement soon with more details on the beta test, and until then please do not spam the Admins with questions. If you are a newbie, look at the next few weeks as tiem to improve and learn, so you will be able to compete much better once the reset is complete and everyone starts off equal. If you are a veteran and discouraged about losing your ship and levels, look at this as a chance to prove your superiority on your own worth, and not the fact that you've had more time to build things up. TEQ Enters its Next Generation: Cut and pasted from the game's front page: Welcome to NextGen TEQ 1-Oct-2002 Welcome to the first official round of Next Generation TEQ! We worked hard the past month to make this version on TEQ as fast, bug free and stable as possible. We hope we succeeded, so you all try and find out! For extra features, such as graphical statistics of various aspect of your country, please consider a premium subscription! Starting from $ 1.70/month Kama and MM Star Peace Update: The following is the game's September Newsletter: September Newsletter By OC_Development September 19 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK – OK so we are only ONE day ahead of schedule! We know that’s not much in terms of early news. We admit that we were rather premature in thinking we could tell you more, sooner rather than later. The reality is that the publishing deal is moving along really well, but until the final contract is signed we can’t say anything, well, we can say stuff but we know you really want to know who, when and where, and alas we can’t tell you that! Presently, the most important element being worked on—yes that’s right, the team has been redirected to Star Peace—is changes to the game. A producer has been assigned to us and we are currently working with that team to identify what needs to be changed and how it should be done. We can’t tell you what the changes will be, but then I’m certain you expected us to say that! If all goes according to plan, a final contract will be finalized in the next month (end of September/October). I think the best thing we can convey about this publisher is not only are they greatly respected in the industry, but they have been a real pleasure to work with. Their enthusiasm for Star Peace is amazing, we really couldn’t ask for a better publisher. CALLING ON ALL PLAYERS TO HELP We know that you guys are itching to get to the next stage, and it’s frustrating to not know what’s going on, well one way to channel that excess energy is to help us identify bugs that need to be fixed in the game. In the next couple of days we will create a Post in the Forum, asking you, our very knowledgeable players, about bugs that you have identified. While bugs have been raised from time-to-time, we want to consolidate all of them into one master list. IN CONCLUSION So there you have it! Sorry for the fact we can’t be more specific, but we really just want to convey that we are moving forward and with each passing day we are getting closer to realizing our goal. While the process has been a long one, that’s the way it works. Firstly, we didn’t just want any publisher, we wanted a great publisher. Now that we have one, there are a lot of details and work to be done in order to finalize the publishing deal and prepare Star Peace for its launch. We are not going to promise an update before one month is up, but we do hope we’ll be able to tell you some more juicy details sooner rather than later. Thanks for you support and patience! EDrugTrader is a game that's survived and prospered despite being blacklisted by the leading game directories and news sites. Neither MPOGD or Top Web Games list this game, nor do any other significant game directory and/or news site. Yet, the game continues to attract multitudes of players. Chivalry Update: The long-promised new version of the game that just 2 months ago was announced by the game's developer as being just around the corner, remains elusive as does any further announcements from the developer. On September 29, 2002, this writer had a talk with TDZK developer Jerle during which he said that, "we are creating a TDZK portal site right now, which will have an extensive links page." Also, Jerle reports that the playership levels are beginning to go back up a bit now that the server issues have been successfully resolved. Also, according to Jerle, "the new template is rock-solid with all browsers we've tested so far." Space Merchant Memories [Newbie Game #8]: The following was originally posted on the SMR Forum at: http://www.smrealms.de/smrcnn/viewtopic.php?t=1222 : The greatest of all the SM alliances that I was in prior to Newbie Game #10 when I finally got DarkFlare to allow TM being set up in SM. That is, of course, Law & Order. At the start of SM Newbie Game #8, there was a prominent player named Zonker from previous newbie games who realized that NG #8 would be the very last NG that he'd be able to play in and he wanted to go out of the NG's with a bang. Thus it was that he formed Ascension, an alliance that was to be evilly inclined so much so that it was the one and only major SM alliance that I can ever remember where most of the members's names were in red. Ascension was literally an Evil Trader alliance. Ascension rose to power quickly in NG #8, provoking a backlash amongst the Federal Deputy & neutral trader players who banded together in the form of 3 major alliances, The Space Marshals, The Untouchables and the alliance that I joined up with, Law & Order. L&O was a very memorable experience since it was the 1 and only pre-TM SM alliance that I was in that wasn't merely some sort of do-nothing container of players. It was an outfit with a central animating mission: the suppression of evil and of Ascension especially. L&O was the 1 and only pre-TM alliance where I participated in some Planet Busts & combat sweeps with several other alliance members online simultaneously and in the same general area where I was. NG #8 was the 1 and only SM/SMR game where I flew a Federal warship. It was also memorable since it was the 1 and only pre-TM alliance where I had a leadership position. Specifically I was the Commander of all L&O forces in the Salzik Galaxy where I was in charge of both L&O planets there and also of the members who traded there. I led my very first Planet Bust with L&O and had some most memorable experiences with that alliance in that game. L&O was also memberable because Lord Nuff required that we all have/get AOL Instant Messenger to facilitate communication, so that's why I got AIM. Every time I use AIM, its an instant reminder of both L&O and NG #8. L&O finished the game with about a dozen planets, several of which had been taken from Ascension (1 of which had been the Ascension HQ planet) or that L&O included in its ranks several of the best players in SM at that time. Players such as Kiwi007, BrianBond007 (L&O had several members with James Bondish names), SteelTiger and Mr. Fantastic. It was a most memorable group. Due to the struggle between the forces of good and evil, NG #8 was the only SM NG that I can recall that held the interest of its players right down to the last day of the game. As for Zonker, he seems to have dropped out of sight after his humiliation in NG #8 at the hands of L&O and its allies. |
